About the role
Professional level sales position capable of supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. The role has expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. This role can perform advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, and source parts from multiple channels including special order, FDO, and second source. The position is full-time and requires in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance
- Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties)
- Assist in store inventory processes including truck put-away, shoot outs, cycle counts, and back stock
- Maintain store cleanliness including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and parking lot
Requirements
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.)
- Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus); strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals
- Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work varied shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
- Valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience
- Proven sales ability with past customer transaction experience
- ASE P2 certification or ASE-ready equivalent (preferred but not required)

- Operating POS, parts lookup systems, and inventory systems

Pay
The good faith estimate for this role is between $14.00 USD and $15.58 USD per hour for a new team member. The rate depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and shift differential (if applicable).
