About the Role

A professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts, with the ability to assist DIY customers through advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project support. The position is full-time.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate selling experiences for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
• Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
• Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
• Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
• Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties).
• Assist in store inventory processes (truck put away, cycle counts, back stock, etc.).
• Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
• Provide DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of automotive systems (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus) and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work varied days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
• Proven sales ability with experience in customer transactions.
• ASE Certification preferred but not required.

Skills

• Advanced automotive system and parts knowledge.
• Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.
• Advanced parts lookup, sourcing, and project assistance.
• Proficiency in operating inventory systems, POS, and parts lookup tools.
• Advanced selling and product recommendation skills.

Pay

The estimated pay range for this role is $17.15–$19.08 USD per hour for new team members. The final rate depends on factors such as geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and shift differentials (if applicable).
