About the Role

A professional-level sales position that supports advanced functions of the DIY business. The role requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive system knowledge, and part knowledge. Responsibilities include advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project assistance for DIY customers, as well as sourcing parts from multiple channels (special order, FDO, second source, etc.). This is a full-time position with in-depth knowledge of store inventory and maintenance processes.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
  • Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
  • Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance.
  • Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties).
  • Assist in store inventory processes (truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock).
  • Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).
  • Provide DIY services such as battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of automotive systems (internal engine, suspension, brakes, electronic, exhaust, etc.).
  • Ability to speak and write English (Spanish a plus); communicate effectively with customers, peers, and management.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, procedure manuals).
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and execute instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Successfully complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work varied shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
  • Proven sales ability with past experience in customer transactions.
  • ASE Certification preferred but not required.
