About the Role

A professional-level sales position supporting advanced functions of the DIY business. This role requires expert knowledge of store systems, automotive systems, and parts, with the ability to assist DIY customers through advanced identification, troubleshooting, and project support. The position is full-time.

Responsibilities

• Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls.
• Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives.
• Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, and wiper installs.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and store appearance.
• Perform key holder responsibilities (task assignment, safety, open/close duties).
• Assist in store inventory processes (truck put away, cycle counts, back stock, etc.).
• Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot).

Requirements

• Working knowledge of automotive systems (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust, etc.).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English (Spanish a plus) and build strong relationships with customers, peers, and management.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting safety rules, operating instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) in all units of measure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Strong organizational skills.
• Flexibility to work varied days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of prior automotive parts experience.
• Proven sales ability with experience in customer transactions.
• ASE P2 certification or equivalent ASE-ready knowledge.
• Advanced parts lookup, sourcing, and project recommendation skills.
• Expertise in testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services.

Skills

• Advanced automotive system and part knowledge.
• Operating inventory systems, POS, and parts lookup systems.
• Safety knowledge and skills.
• Advanced selling and solution recommendation abilities.

Pay

The estimated compensation range for this role is $18.85–$20.98 USD per hour for new team members. The rate depends on geographic location, experience, automotive knowledge, education, leadership roles, and shift differential (if applicable).
