The Retail Team Lead is a part-time role providing “total solutions” to customers encompassing Products, Technology, Services, Furniture, and Print offerings. This role focuses on building and maintaining customer relationships, supporting a customer-centric environment, and contributing to a positive culture aligned with Office Depot’s 5C values: Caring, Committed, Creative, Collaborative, & Courageous. The Team Lead will demonstrate passion for the brand and utilize Office Depot's proven sales principles to drive sales and ensure customer satisfaction. Additionally, the Retail Team Lead serves as a part-time ‘Key Carrier’ and may perform Leader on Duty functions, including opening and closing responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Print Sales and Services: Support efficient operation of the Print function while driving overall store sales. Operate and assist associates on all equipment within the Print Services area to ensure client orders are completed correctly and on-time. Utilize communication tools to coordinate appropriate service for all customers.
  • Operational Efficiency: Process merchandise accurately and efficiently, adhering to established procedures, deadlines, and visual merchandising standards. Identify areas for process improvement and implement plans to reduce waste and inefficiencies. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and loss prevention efforts. Contribute to increasing sales and profitability through conversion, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  • Client Engagement: Drive positive client satisfaction levels by coaching and training associates to enhance the customer experience. Support community outreach initiatives to drive customer retention. Continuously develop personal selling skills and product knowledge to deliver total solutions.
  • External Key Carrier and Leader on Duty: Ensure the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of the management team. Perform opening or closing responsibilities, including alarm system activation/deactivation and processes for opening/closing the store. Assist in reviewing cash handling, cashier and merchandise error logs, register voids, tax exemption, and related cash office audits.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1–3 years of related experience; sales and/or customer service experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills; able to use job-related technology and POS systems.
  • Attention to detail and, ideally, experience in Print Services.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $12.92/hr to $19.32/hr. All state and local minimum wages will be complied with, which may result in an adjustment to the salary range.
