Retail Merchandising Support Associate, Tippecanoe Mall - Part Time
About the Role
As a Merchandising Colleague—also known as a Front of House Colleague—you’ll play a critical role in delivering a seamless, inspiring in-store experience. You will execute merchandise movement and placement strategies, enhance the visual appeal of the sales floor, maintain well-organized and shoppable displays, and ensure pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up-to-date. Your attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence will directly impact our customers’ experience.
You’ll be a visible and welcoming presence on the floor, greeting customers with genuine hospitality and offering assistance to ensure they feel seen, supported, and valued. Collaboration is key: you’ll work closely with colleagues across departments to meet shared goals, support sales, and contribute to a culture of hospitality and positivity.
Responsibilities
- Execute merchandise movement and placement strategies to enhance visual appeal of the sales floor
- Maintain well-organized and shoppable displays
- Ensure pricing and promotional signage is accurate and up-to-date
- Greet customers with a warm welcome, make eye contact, and engage in friendly, personal conversations
- Actively listen to customer needs and provide thoughtful assistance to build lasting relationships
- Recover the floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, replenish merchandise, and support merchandise moves
- Promote the Loyalty program and open new credit accounts
- Use point-of-sale technology and digital tools to streamline transactions and enhance the shopping experience
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to drive sales and elevate the customer experience
- Meet daily sales goals and participate in sales-boosting events
- Update mannequins, reset floor layouts, and align presentation with company directives
- Reorganize the department, restock merchandise, and prepare the space for the next day
Requirements
- Flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and supervisors
- Read and understand employment policies and safety rules/procedures in English
- Create a welcoming, friendly environment for customers and colleagues
- Learn about store products and provide expert guidance to customers based on their needs
- Ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours, lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders
- Reach with arms and hands, including above eye level
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Frequent use of computers, handheld equipment, cash registers, and other technology
Schedule
Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled to work 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week. All schedules include weekend shifts. Hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.
