Retail Merchandising Specialist

Job Overview

Winston Retail is seeking a passionate, detail‑driven apparel merchandiser to bring fashion to life at the store level. As an apparel merchandiser, you’ll ensure clothing is styled, organized, and presented to reflect brand identity and attract shoppers. This independent‑contractor role is project‑based, with varying hours.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective merchandising strategies that align with company standards.
• Execute planograms to optimize product placement and maximize sales with apparel and hardline merchandise.
• Communicate effectively with team members and store management regarding merchandising needs.
• Work independently and as part of a team in different store settings.
• Manage monthly scheduling to ensure store visits and merchandising deliverables are completed by assigned deadlines.
• Submit store visit reports, including before and after photos and written feedback, using the Winston App on a smart device.
• Lift up to 25 pounds and stand for the entire shift.

Requirements

• Proven experience in apparel merchandising or a related field (preferred).
• Experience working with mannequins (assembling, updating, and styling).
• Portfolio of work (preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with planograms and visual directives.
• Keen eye for detail and creativity in presenting apparel displays.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Smartphone required for reporting: iPhone 11 or newer (iOS) or Android 2020 or newer, with OS no more than four versions behind the latest.
