Retail Merchandiser

About the role

SFS is growing and seeking experienced Retail Merchandisers to join its nationwide network of independent contractors. This role offers flexible, supplemental income while servicing some of the nation's largest retailers and brands. SFS is a leading provider of retail merchandising, auditing, installation, and assembly services to Fortune 1000 manufacturers and retailers throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, supporting millions of retail projects annually.

Responsibilities

• Review project instructions and client expectations before each assignment
• Execute merchandising projects according to client requirements
• Perform product resets, cut-ins, display maintenance, and promotional installations
• Remove discontinued or outdated products and materials
• Conduct inventory counts and product scanning activities
• Stock and organize merchandise according to planograms and merchandising standards
• Ensure displays are clean, organized, and accurately presented
• Travel between retail locations as desired and accepted
• Complete required reporting, including photos and project documentation, using a mobile device
• Submit project completion reports on the same day services are performed

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous merchandising, retail, reset, auditing, or customer service experience preferred
• Ability to read and execute planograms and merchandising instructions
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments
• Effective communication and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable using mobile technology for reporting and project documentation
• Available to complete assignments during retailer service windows, primarily weekday daytime hours
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds repeatedly
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, and stand for extended periods
• Reliable transportation for travel between assigned retail locations
• Smartphone or tablet (Android or iOS) with internet access
• Active email address for project communication and reporting
• Ability to submit project completion reports and photos on the same day work is performed

Schedule

Flexible schedule based on retailer service windows; typical projects range from 12‑20 hours per month, with some locations requiring service during the first two weeks of each month. Clients provide service windows rather than specific work schedules, allowing you to choose when you work while meeting project requirements.
