Essential Responsibilities
- Aid customers with frame selection, fitting, and dispensing.
- Utilize technical information to interpret prescriptions for optimal customer service.
- Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and other services.
- Inform customers about benefits covered by third-party insurance.
- Identify customer needs using the SERVE sales process and make appropriate lens recommendations.
- Use demonstration tools to assist in the fitting and dispensing process.
- Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions.
- Contact the lab and optometrist for prescription accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized dispensing area.
- Ensure customer pricing accuracy.
- Maintain license requirements according to state guidelines.
- Offer feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians.
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies.
- Participate in training and educational activities.
- Diligently maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and facility.
- Complete additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
- Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in optical products, prescriptions, fitting, and dispensing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy.

Pay
Pay Class: Part Time, 0 - 19 hours per week
Pay: $27 - $40.50 per hour
Schedule
Position provides competitive pay and benefits. Specific terms are set forth in the Company’s collective bargaining agreement with a minimum pay rate of $27 per hour plus incentive. Starting pay may vary based on experience to a maximum of $40.50 per hour. Incentive pay, wage upgrades, and overtime opportunities also available.
