Summary
Aids customers in selecting, fitting, and dispensing frames. Utilizes technical information to interpret prescriptions and assist with optical products and services.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers with frame selection, ensuring social distancing
- Provide accurate product information about frames, lenses, and services
- Communicate benefits of third-party insurance to customers
- Utilize SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and make lens recommendations
- Analyze and interpret prescriptions, communicate with lab and optometrist for accuracy
- Sell, fit, and dispense frames and accessories, ensuring accuracy of measurements and adjustments
- Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area
- Ensure customer pricing accuracy for retail customers
- Maintain license requirements per state guidelines
- Provide feedback and guidance to apprentice opticians
- Adhere to privacy and confidentiality policies
- Participate in training and educational activities
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations, and facility
- Complete additional responsibilities as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing
- Demonstrated knowledge and abilities in optical products, prescriptions, fitting, and dispensing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Outgoing and positive professional personality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to support change and adapt to new situations
- Ability to work onsite and participate in interactive meetings
