Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensures each customer receives the highest level of customer service
- Notifies the Store Manager of hiring needs/floor coverage shortages
- Affords assistance to the Store Manager in finding new employees
- Communicates the Company discount policy to the Store Manager
- Controls the payroll budget for the Store Manager
- Schedules staff efficiently
- Affords assistance to the Store Manager in controlling payroll budget
- Understands and follows progressive discipline procedures
- Shares ideas received from staff and customers with the Store Manager
- Understands the details of upcoming promotions
- Makes deposits correctly and ensures paperwork is accurate
- Ensures accuracy regarding merchandise that is received and shipped
- Conducts regular spot checks on store inventory
- Ensures that displays are clean and current
- Ensures the selling floor is maintained, organized, and set to company guidelines
- Manages the daily activity of the sales floor, backroom, and cash register area according to company policy
Knowledge And Skills
- Strong managerial skills
- Strong selling and communication skills
- Excellent product knowledge
- Strong knowledge of company history, corporate structure, and target market
- Strong knowledge of the competition and their prices
- Strong knowledge of POS systems
Essential Physical Requirements
- Ability to work varied days/hours
- Ability to climb ladders
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs.
Education And Work Experience
- High school or equivalent
- One or more years of Store management experience in a retail environment
