Retail Experience Specialist - Delaware River Area
Starting wage: $19.50–$20.50 per hour. Travel and training wages vary by location; ask your recruiter for details.
About the role
Caper is a new “smart” shopping cart that lets customers scan items as they shop, see their total spend in real time, apply store loyalty discounts on the fly, and check out right from the cart—no checkout line. As a Retail Experience Specialist, you’ll help transform everyday shopping into an unforgettable experience by introducing shoppers to this cutting-edge retail technology.
What you’ll do
- Drive adoption by demoing the Caper Cart with customers so they will use it.
- Create buzz by engaging shoppers and introducing them to the Caper Cart experience.
- Deliver quick, fun tutorials that highlight the cart’s coolest features.
- Be the go-to expert: troubleshoot on the spot and keep things running smoothly.
- Collect insights by gathering feedback and sharing it with our tech team to improve the experience.
- Collaborate with store teams to ensure a seamless rollout.
- Deliver WOW moments by providing top-tier service and leaving every customer smiling.
What we’re looking for
- Enjoy talking with people and can strike up a friendly conversation with strangers.
- Can read the room well and tailor a quick pitch to whoever is in front of you—a senior, a parent, a customer in a hurry, or a cost-oriented shopper.
- Like new technology and feel comfortable showing it off, even if it’s new to you.
- Reliable and self-directed: show up on time, follow the demo process compliantly, and complete end-of-shift admin without being reminded.
- Stay positive when customers say no and move on to the next prospective customer.
- Background in retail, customer service, hospitality, or any role where you’ve been on your feet engaging customers continuously during extended periods of time.
What success looks like
Two things drive success in the role: the number of demos you complete and the number of those demos that turn into a customer shopping with Caper. Both are measurable. The most important habit is consistency—showing up, being friendly/professional, running the demo the way you’re trained, and capturing every demo so your work is counted.
