The Retail Donation Attendant position at MERS/Missouri Goodwill Industries in Overland Park, KS, supports the organization's mission of changing lives through the power of work.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide positive customer service interactions, including greetings, assisting donors with their donation drop-off, and offering thanks and any donation incentive and tax receipt.
- Handle all donations with care and respect.
- Sort donated goods and purchased goods into categories: sales floor, seasonal, online sales, outlet, and trash, according to established guidelines.
- Notify management of hazardous, valuable, or inappropriate merchandise/materials being donated.
- Maintain high quality and high quantity standards while working quickly and steadily.
- Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard.
- Uphold store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces.
- Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and work cross-functionally with other teams to increase communication.
- Utilize safe work practices through awareness and observation and contribute to ensuring the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free.
- Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code.
- Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets.
- Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
