Retail Dining Associate ( Non-Student Hourly)

About the role

University of North Texas Dining Services is seeking dependable and customer-focused Hourly Dining Associates to support daily operations across UNT Retail Dining locations. Our retail dining venues include a variety of quick-service restaurants, cafés, and branded concepts that serve students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food and beverages by following standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and quality standards to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests, accurately taking and fulfilling orders, operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, and maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards by properly operating food service equipment, handling food safely, cleaning workstations, and following all health, safety, and security procedures.
• Support daily retail dining operations by stocking food, beverages, and supplies, washing dishes and utensils as needed, and maintaining clean, organized dining and kitchen areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of UNT Retail Dining locations and contribute to a positive dining experience for the campus community.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of food service, sanitation, and safety practices, or the ability to learn and apply them quickly.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a scheduled shift.
• Demonstrated reliability, dependability, and punctuality.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include basic understanding of food service, sanitation, and safety practices, or the ability to learn and apply them quickly.
• Knowledge, skills and abilities include ability to follow written and verbal instructions with attention to detail, ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout a scheduled shift, demonstrated reliability, dependability, and punctuality, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
