Retail Customer Service Associate

About the role

The Store Consultant consistently delivers a positive customer experience, utilizing consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and provide solutions. This role is knowledgeable in all areas of the Store’s business, including print, signs & graphics, and shipping. Responsibilities include taking orders, coordinating store activities, providing pricing and product information, and recommending appropriate FedEx Office products and services.

Responsibilities

• Follow instructions of supervisors and assist other team members in performing store functions.
• Assist in the training of store team members.
• Demonstrate consultative behaviors in a retail environment to understand each customer’s individualized needs.
• Provide customer expertise in printing, signs and graphics, and shipping product lines; recommend appropriate FedEx Office products and services.
• Deliver an outstanding customer service experience by anticipating needs, suggesting alternatives, and finding solutions.
• Resolve customer problems quickly and to their satisfaction.
• Take complex customer orders using order systems and provide accurate pricing information.
• Assemble parcels and prepare goods for shipping, including wrapping, weighing, and affixing labels.
• Set up and operate printing, binding, and related equipment using customer-supplied materials.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly retail store.
• Ensure confidentiality of customer data and careful handling of documents and packages.
• Process financial transactions using a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, including handling cash and making change.
• Maintain and stock retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies for optimal performance.
• Stay current on retail store merchandising materials and ensure proper display of products and signage.
• Take preemptive action to prevent errors and waste.
• Complete required financial paperwork and assist with financial reporting, including daily sales, close-outs, and bank deposits.
• Follow FedEx Office standard operating procedures and adhere to legal, HR, safety, customer service, and security policies.
• Perform multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision.
• Look for opportunities to improve knowledge and skills within the retail store.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• 6+ months of specialized experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods.

Pay

Starting pay range: $19.70 - $23.17 per hour. Actual starting pay determined by experience, market level, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Eligible employees may receive additional pay, premiums, or bonuses.
