Retail Cleaning Associate

About the Role

This role focuses on maintaining a clean and organized store environment with an emphasis on floor care. You’ll be cross-trained to support multiple areas of the store, contributing to a positive and efficient retail operation.

Responsibilities

• Operate scrubbers and buffers, perform dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows.
• Adhere to all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
• Maintain floor care cleanliness standards, including the maintenance and operation of scrubbers and buffers.
• Uphold organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the entire store, including the Sales Floor, Single Queue, Associate Lounge, Backroom, and Restrooms.
• Follow all company policies concerning Health and Safety, including refilling essential items in the Lounge, Restrooms, and Front End.
• Cross-train in other store areas (Backroom, Front End, Sales Floor, etc.) to support business needs.
• Support and respond to Front End coverage needs.
• Adhere to and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery as needed throughout the day.
• Follow all operational and loss prevention controls, including shrink reduction guidelines.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Adhere to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, including meal and break period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Able to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, operate floor buffers and scrubbers, and lift heavy objects (with or without reasonable accommodation).
• Capable of multitasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; listens and responds appropriately.
• Ability to work effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.
