Retail Cashier Floater

This is a versatile role designed for individuals who provide coverage across multiple store locations within a specific region. Your work location may vary daily as you fill in for staff on leave, vacation, or open positions. As a Floater, you'll have the chance to meet new people, learn new techniques, and gain valuable experience while building your reputation. You may also be selected for additional leadership opportunities. Must be 21 or older for this location.

Responsibilities

• Greet every customer with a smile, thank them for their business, and invite them back
• Provide fast and friendly service and accurate product information; help build awareness of products and services
• Ring up sales and merchandise, offering applicable discounts/promotions while following all laws and policies regarding restricted sales of tobacco and alcohol
• Prepare cashier checkout reports accurately and according to policy
• Maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store
• Properly label, rotate, and stock shelves, coolers, and displays
• Be safety/security conscious while adhering to the guidelines in the Safety Manual
• Report any accidents or incidents to the Store Manager immediately
• Be knowledgeable of and follow company policy and procedures
• Where applicable, fuel customers’ cars, check engine fluids, and wash customer windows (required in Oregon and as needed for handicapped customers)
• Ensure proper sanitation and food handling/prep/storage/disposal procedures are followed
• For Book Floaters: Reconcile daily paperwork when covering shifts and completing daily deposits
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Can work flexible shifts to support business needs for a 24/7 operation, including rotating shifts, nights, holidays, and weekends
• Must be of legal age to sell restricted products including alcohol and tobacco
• NV only: Must be of legal age to work in an establishment with slot machines
• Willingness and passion for delivering exceptional customer service
• Excellent communication with a friendly can-do attitude
• Previous retail or cashier experience
• Experience leading by example and doing the right thing
• Strong sense of teamwork

Physical Requirements

• Frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds
• Work safely in conditions that include heat, cold, allergens, noise, and fumes/chemicals/odors from gasoline and cleaning chemicals
