About the role

MERS Goodwill is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Organizer. The ideal candidate will have experience in community development, social justice, and organizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to engage and mobilize community members on various issues.
• Facilitate community meetings and workshops to address local needs and concerns.
• Collaborate with other organizations to build coalitions and partnerships that enhance community impact.
• Conduct outreach and engagement activities to increase awareness and participation in community initiatives.
• Assist in fundraising efforts to support community projects and programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Public Policy, or related field.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in community organizing, advocacy, or social services.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications

• Experience working with diverse communities and populations.
• Knowledge of local government processes and policies.
• Understanding of social justice principles and practices.

Skills

• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually.
