Primary Duties/Responsibilities

- Make customers a priority by greeting and acknowledging them as they enter the store, helping on the sales floor, and answering the phone within three rings with a professional greeting. - Operate the store cash register: handle cash and credit card transactions, process appropriate discounts, and balance the cash register. - Stock, straighten, rotate, and maintain the cleanliness of the entire store area efficiently and to standard. - Request assistance from managers for returns, exchanges, and customer complaints. - Uphold store cleanliness standards by sweeping, dusting, mopping, and shining surfaces. - Establish and maintain positive and professional relationships with team members and leadership and work cross-functionally with other teams to enhance communication. - Adhere to safe work practices through awareness and observation. - Ensure the workplace is hazard-free by removing obstructions and keeping aisles and designated walkways debris-free. - Maintain a professional appearance always, adhering to MERS/Goodwill's dress code. - Safeguard agency assets, including cash, donated items, and purchased items, from harm, damage, or theft. Report any incidents of theft or unauthorized possession of agency assets. - Adhere to all MERS/Goodwill policies, Goodwill Retail procedures, and safety and security regulations. - Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- No degree is required. A High School Diploma/GED is preferred. - Effective communication skills with co-workers, customers, and management. - Organized and capable of interacting with a diverse work population. - Necessary math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
