About the role

MERS Goodwill is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Community Organizer. The ideal candidate will have experience in community development, social justice, and organizing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to engage and mobilize community members on issues related to housing, economic empowerment, and social justice.
• Facilitate community meetings and workshops to address local needs and concerns.
• Collaborate with local organizations and stakeholders to build coalitions and partnerships.
• Assist in the development and implementation of programs that promote affordable housing and economic opportunities.
• Conduct outreach and engagement activities to increase awareness and participation in community initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as sociology, social work, urban planning, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in community organizing, social justice advocacy, or related field.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with data collection and analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000 annually.
