Performance Summary

The purpose of this position is to safely package copper fittings that meet quality specifications set both internally and by the customer. This will be accomplished chiefly through setting up and operating any and all manual and automated machinery associated with the cost center, cleaning the work area and equipment, and any other assigned duties as deemed necessary by area supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operation of manually‑fed and automated machinery – safely start, support, troubleshoot, maintain, and clean any and all assignable machinery; tasks may include use of powered lift equipment and work on fixed elevated platforms.
• Clean up of work area – maintain a clean and safe work area around the machinery, including sweeping, mopping, removal of manufacturing by‑products, and cleaning surrounding work areas.
• Flow to available work – work in other manufacturing areas as dictated by the flow of new orders; assignments may last for indeterminate periods.

Experience

• Successful operation and maintenance of the machinery associated with this work area; experience with heavy manufacturing equipment, manual and/or automated, is favorable.
• Familiarity with the quality checks associated with production of wrought copper fittings is a plus.
• If all other considerations are equal, time of service will be used as the deciding factor.

Education

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.

Training and Skills

• Acceptable attendance record per hiring and job transfer policies.
• Ability to understand and follow all applicable safety policies.
• Ability to understand and follow standard work practices.

• Physical demands: Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds for short periods.

Internal Applicant Criteria

• Hourly or salary level 1 – must be in current position for 18 months.
• Salary level 2 to 5 – must be in current position for 24 months.
• Salary level 6 or above – must be in current position for 30 months.
• Internal applicants may advance no more than two salary levels.

Schedule

3rd Shift – 9:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.
