Retail Bike Technician
About the Role
The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. This individual will build and repair bicycles according to established procedures, pull from personal experiences and industry research to provide strong product recommendations, and create a world-class customer experience through passionate customer service and selling via engagement in the Bike Department.
You will uphold company standards for merchandise presentation, demonstrate genuine customer interaction, promote company programs (warranty sales, loyalty programs, credit cards, and seasonal promotions), and achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
Responsibilities
- Build and repair bikes in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
- Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage of the Bike Department.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
- Support the team across the store in an all-hands-on-deck approach.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift 15 to 35 lbs. occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.

Pay
Targeted pay range: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour. Starting rate may vary based on factors including location, experience, and position offered.
