About the Role
The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. This individual will build and repair bicycles according to established procedures, leveraging personal experience and industry research to offer strong product recommendations tailored to customer needs.
Create a world-class customer experience through passionate service and engagement in the Bike Department, while upholding company standards for merchandise presentation and promoting company programs such as warranty sales, loyalty programs, and seasonal promotions.
Responsibilities
- Build and repair bicycles in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
- Provide passionate customer service and sell through customer engagement, including product recommendations.
- Maintain merchandise presentation standards and signage in the Bike Department.
- Adhere to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
- Promote company programs, including warranty sales, Scorecard (loyalty program), private-label credit cards, and seasonal promotions.
- Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
- Support the team across the store in an all-hands-on-deck approach.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift items weighing 15 to 35 lbs. occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
