Retail Bike Technician

About the Role

The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. This individual will build and repair bicycles according to established procedures, pull from personal experiences and industry research to provide strong product recommendations, and create a world-class customer experience through passionate customer service and selling via customer engagement in the Bike Department.

Responsibilities

• Build and repair bikes in accordance with established procedures.
• Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed.
• Uphold company standards for merchandise presentation and signage in the Bike Department.
• Demonstrate genuine interaction with customers to show passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment in their sport or activity.
• Promote company programs including warranty sales, Scorecard (loyalty program), private-label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions.
• Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of all Company information.
• Support the team across the store in an all-hands-on-deck approach.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Prior experience building, repairing, and selling bicycles preferred.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift 15 to 35 lbs. occasionally (up to 5 times per hour).
• Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.

Pay

Targeted pay range: $17.00 - $24.00 per hour. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience, and position offered.
