About the role
The Retail Banker I is a customer liaison that delivers TD’s Brand promise by utilizing financial expertise and consultative advice to assist customers with their banking solutions/needs. This role contributes to the achievement of business objectives that enable growth through identifying appropriate TD solutions that help customers achieve their financial goals and optimize their relationship with TD.
Responsibilities
- Utilize financial expertise to identify and recommend appropriate TD solutions to customers, focusing on meeting their financial goals and optimizing their relationship with TD.
- Proactively engage with customers to understand their needs and provide consultative advice, resolving issues and errors as needed.
- Use CRM tools to assess customer needs, identify potential solutions, and manage customer interactions.
- Manage customer transactions, including check cashing, deposits, transfers, and withdrawals, while adhering to operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain an active NMLS registration status.
- Communicate effectively with customers, providing educational content and tools, and offering proactive insights and recommendations.
- Act as a point of escalation for customer inquiries or concerns, and escalate non-standard or high-risk transactions as necessary.
- Participate in customer outreach and servicing activities to deliver on TD’s unexpectedly human promise.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, with 1+ years' experience working with customers or sales in any capacity, or equivalent demonstrated through education, military experience, or volunteer work.
- Teller experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to engage in customer conversations, educate them on products and services, and organize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to be concise, clear, and consistent.
- Demonstrated ability to schedule and prioritize work, work independently, and adhere to deadlines.
- Sound judgment in decision-making and effective problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Notary license preferred.
Qualifications
- Eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under the standards established by Regulation Z of the Truth in Lending Act.
- Eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with the NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).
- Pass a satisfactory criminal background check and credit report check.
