Retail Backroom Coordinator

About the Role

Responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards while ensuring Associates process efficiently and effectively as a team. You’ll ensure an excellent customer experience by engaging with customers and maintaining a clean, organized store. This role models exceptional customer service and creates positive internal and external experiences.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality
• Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor
• Train and mentor Associates on merchandising and processing principles
• Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded
• Communicate with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure efficient flow of goods to the sales floor
• Ensure Associates complete tasks according to store plan and prioritize as needed
• Monitor team productivity and provide coaching as necessary
• Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment
• Maintain merchandising philosophy and signage standards
• Uphold organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area
• Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs where applicable
• Communicate accurately with management and Associates on priorities and progress updates
• Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback
• Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness
• Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures
• Promote credit and loyalty programs
• Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs
• Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends
• Superior communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Capable of multitasking and responding appropriately to changes in direction or unexpected situations
• Team player, working effectively with peers and supervisors
• Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation
• Able to train others
• 1 year of retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience

Pay

This position has a starting pay range of $16.00 to $16.50 per hour. Actual starting pay is determined by relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
