Retail Associate Sales - Inside Sales

About the role

Under direct supervision, you will sort and stock merchandise onto proper shelves, bins, or pegs. You will assist customers, receive payment, stock material, and support all areas of Retail business as needed.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and process payments, including issuing receipts, refunds, credits, or change; package purchases and thank customers.
• Acknowledge incoming customers, provide product information, store knowledge, and direct customers to product pick-up points.
• Stock merchandise in bins, on floors, or shelves based on style, size, or type; manage overstock in the stockroom.
• Monitor and replenish low or out-of-stock items from the stockroom.
• Report stock damage or spoilage and ensure bin tags are properly placed.
• Verify merchandise pricing and attach promotional or sale signage.
• Assist in unpacking, checking in merchandise, and setting up or reorganizing product displays.
• Answer basic customer questions while on the sales floor and assist in transporting purchases to vehicles.
• Perform related clerical duties such as preparing transfer slips, managing pick cards, and maintaining records.
• Participate in periodic, special, and annual inventory counts.
• Perform other assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or equivalent work experience.
• This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training provided.

Skills

• Knowledge of company products and standards.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Good math skills.
• Strong customer service skills.

Work Environment

The role is performed within a retail environment, involving standing and/or walking most of the day. You must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 80 pounds. Tasks may require climbing, lifting, pushing, or kneeling.
