About the Role
Join Ross, a leading off-price retail chain with over 2,200 stores, and contribute to our success by ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. As a Retail Associate, you will play a key role in maintaining a fun, engaging, and safe treasure-hunt atmosphere while delivering exceptional customer service and supporting store operations.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors and maintaining a secure shopping environment for customers and associates.
- Greet all customers with eye contact, a smile, and a friendly demeanor; assist customers with merchandise, register transactions, and inquiries.
- Respond promptly and courteously to customer service calls and handle issues professionally, escalating to leadership when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized store by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Adhere to company dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Perform daily sizing, recovery, and merchandising tasks to ensure the store is neat, well-maintained, and efficiently organized.
- Expedite the movement of newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company guidelines and maintaining brand familiarity.
- Understand and follow Loss Prevention Awareness programs, including merchandise protection standards and proper handling of Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) items.
- Handle all cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately and in compliance with company policies.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and maximize productivity by following store best practices and minimizing unnecessary steps in workflows.
- Safeguard confidential information, including cash, credit card details, and merchandise.
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with customers, associates, and store leadership.
- Basic mathematical skills commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- For stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
