About the role

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with merchandise, responding to customer inquiries, and performing various cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Understands safety is the top priority and practices safe behaviors.
  • Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment by being aware of the sales floor and reporting unsafe conditions.
  • Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy, recognizing fellow associates through Company recognition programs.
  • Assists customers in any way necessary, including being register-trained and answering customer questions politely and knowledgeably.
  • Greets customers by making eye contact, smiling, and saying "hello" throughout the store, and "thank you" with every register transaction.
  • Responds promptly and efficiently to customer service calls and handles issues courteously, escalating to leadership when necessary.
  • Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
  • Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the company's dress code.
  • Manages daily assigned sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
  • Expedites new merchandise receipts to the sales floor and merchandises items according to company best practices.
  • Understands and follows loss prevention policies and processes.
  • Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers.
  • Handles cash, checks, charge cards, and refunds accurately and follows all policies and procedures.
  • Works with urgency to maximize productivity and execute all store best practices.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

  • Effectively communicates with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/ADA

  • Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs as required.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.

Base Pay Range

The base pay range for this role is $17.13 - $17.63. The base pay range is dependent on factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, relevant education, certifications, seniority, and location. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards vary by position and location.
