About the role

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. They greet all customers, assist with merchandise, answer questions, and maintain a clean and organized store.

Responsibilities

• Understands safety is the top priority and practices safe behaviors.
• Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment, reporting unsafe conditions to leadership.
• Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy, recognizing fellow associates using Company recognition programs.
• Assists customers with merchandise, answers questions politely, and greets customers by making eye contact and saying "hello" and "thank you."
• Responds promptly to customer service calls and handles issues courteously, escalating to leadership when necessary.
• Represents and supports the company brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and replenishing restroom supplies.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the company's dress code.
• Executes daily assigned sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
• Expedites new merchandise receipts, merchandising items according to company best practices, and maintaining department-specific knowledge.
• Understands and follows loss prevention policies, Shortage Highway, and Store Protection Specialist (SPS) procedures.
• Demonstrates integrity and honesty in all interactions with associates and customers, safeguarding confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
• Fulfills Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, identifying and processing pieces, and notifying leadership for approval.
• Handles cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately, following policies and procedures.
• Manages work processes effectively, prioritizing tasks, and maximizing productivity.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicates with customers, associates, and leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
