Retail Associate
About the role
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, assisting them, and maintaining a clean and organized store.
Responsibilities
- Understands safety is the top priority and practices safe behaviors.
- Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment by keeping the sales floor clean and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy, recognizing fellow associates through Company recognition programs.
- Assists customers with merchandise, answers questions, and greets them politely and professionally.
- Responds promptly and efficiently to customer service calls and handles issues courteously, escalating to leadership when necessary.
- Represents the company brand and adheres to the dress code.
- Performs daily cleaning tasks and expedites merchandise receipts.
- Manages loss prevention, follows MOS policies, and accurately handles cash and credit card transactions.
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and maximizes productivity by following store best practices.
Qualifications and Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with customers, associates, and store leadership.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
Physical Requirements/ADA
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to lift and push/pull more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and other assigned supplies.
