About the role
The Retail Associate ensures our customers have a positive shopping experience by maintaining a welcoming, safe, and well-organized store environment. Associates perform a variety of tasks across all store areas, including customer service, merchandising, cleaning, and operational duties. Flexibility and a willingness to engage in diverse responsibilities are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors, maintaining clear emergency exits, and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service, including greeting customers, assisting with merchandise, answering questions, and handling transactions at the register.
- Respond promptly to customer service calls and resolve issues in a helpful and courteous manner, escalating to leadership when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized store by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high-touch areas.
- Adhere to company dress code and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to ensure the store is neat, clean, and efficiently merchandised according to company standards.
- Expedite the movement of newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to monthly presentation guidelines and maintaining familiarity with merchandise and brands.
- Understand and follow Loss Prevention Awareness programs, including merchandise protection standards and proper handling of Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) items.
- Handle cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately, following all company policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and maximize productivity by executing store best practices and minimizing unnecessary steps in workflows.
- Safeguard confidential information, including cash, credit card details, and merchandise.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Capability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- For stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
