Responsibilities
- Ensure a positive shopping experience for all customers by making eye contact, smiling, and greeting them courteously and friendly.
- Treat fellow associates with respect and maintain a clean work area at all times.
- Engage in tasks as assigned during all working hours, performing a range of functions in all areas of the store as business needs require.
- Prioritize safety by practicing safe behaviors, maintaining awareness on the sales floor, and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Assist customers with merchandise, answer questions, and handle transactions at the register.
- Respond promptly to customer service calls and handle issues courteously, involving store leadership when needed.
- Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and replenishing restroom supplies.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the company's dress code.
- Perform daily sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor, merchandising items according to company guidelines.
- Understand and follow the Loss Prevention Awareness program and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential information.
- Follow Mark-Out-of-Stock (MOS) policies, including proper processing and disposal of merchandise.
- Handle cash, check, charge card, and refund transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maximize productivity by executing store best practices and minimizing steps in workflow.
Requirements
- Effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Qualifications
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the store.
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- For stockroom shifts: Ability to regularly push, pull, and lift more than 20 pounds.
