Retail Associate

About the role

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. Key responsibilities include greeting customers, assisting with merchandise, responding to customer inquiries, and performing various cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Understands and practices safety protocols.
• Maintains a safe and secure shopping environment.
• Treats customers and associates with respect and courtesy.
• Assists customers with merchandise and answers questions politely and knowledgeably.
• Greets customers by making eye contact and smiling.
• Responds promptly and efficiently to customer service calls.
• Represents and supports the company brand.
• Performs cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
• Expedites new merchandise receipts and merchandises items according to company standards.
• Follows loss prevention policies and processes.
• Communicates effectively with customers, associates, and leadership.
• Manages work processes and maximizes productivity.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Ability to use all store equipment, including point of sale terminals, registers, and computers.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to lift and push/pull more than 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
