Responsibilities
- Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
- Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
- Absorb cash handling and transfers
- Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
- Take appropriate action to prevent theft, apprehend individuals engaged in theft activity when prevention is not effective
- Conduct surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with company ethical standards and apprehension guidelines
- Monitor video via CCTV and assist in on-site interviews
- Develop and maintain knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment
- Assist in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls, as assigned by the supervisor
- Develop a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate as well as assist with inventory controls
- Work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs

Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED
- College graduate preferred
- Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
- Prior Loss Prevention (2-3 years) experience
- Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum aka pepper spray) foam deployment
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Heavy work – Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
