Restorative Coach

Location: Fairport, NY 14450 – O'Connor Academy

Term: 10-month, full-time position starting September 2026

Pay

Salary range: $49,470 – $79,820 per school year, dependent on education, experience, and contract.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and coordinate ongoing communication and collaboration between educational, mental health, administrative, and support staff.
• Coach and train staff in proactive intervention techniques within the classroom and greater learning environment.
• Contribute to program initiatives to further positive trauma-informed practices, restorative practices, social, behavioral, and educational supports.
• Establish positive rapport with students, staff, and administration.
• Coordinate and facilitate restorative conversations and interventions with students, families, and staff.
• Assist in the collection and maintenance of student support data and all other necessary documentation.
• Coordinate and conduct debriefing sessions of incidents with staff and students.
• Utilize approved interventions to successfully prepare students to re-enter the classroom setting following a behavioral incident.
• Actively participate in school, family, and team meetings.

Requirements

• Master’s degree from an accredited college required.
• NYS Professional or Permanent Certification or License in Social Work, School Psychology, or Special Education preferred.
• Minimum of five years working with students with disabilities preferred.
• Training in LSI intervention strategies.
• Experience with trauma-informed and restorative practices.
• Required to complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training.
• Able to maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations.
• Working knowledge of New York State Standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
