Restorative Aide CNA

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing and monitoring individualized restorative care plans for residents to help improve or maintain their mobility, strength, and overall physical function.
  • Work with residents to promote independence in daily living activities.
  • Provide assistance to residents with prescribed restorative exercises and activities. Encourage participation and monitor progress.
  • Regularly assess residents' physical abilities and limitations. Document and report any changes to the nursing team to ensure the care plan is adjusted as necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated, high-quality care for residents.
  • Accurately document restorative care activities, resident progress, and any significant changes in residents' conditions. Ensure proper record-keeping in accordance with facility policies.
  • Educate residents and their families on restorative care goals, techniques, and exercises to foster a positive approach to rehabilitation.
  • Support and motivate residents to perform activities of daily living (ADLs) as independently as possible, while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Assist with transfers, ambulation, and other mobility-related tasks to help residents regain or maintain mobility.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements. Report any concerns regarding patient safety or wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) license in good standing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Experience with restorative or rehabilitative therapy is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse team.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.
  • Ability to assist with mobility, transfers, and exercise routines.
  • Basic knowledge of restorative care principles and the needs of elderly or rehabilitation patients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for accurate documentation and effective teamwork.
