About the Role

The Restoration Technician works as part of a team to perform emergency services and contents restoration while adhering to company policies, EPA, OSHA, and local safety and hazardous materials regulations. Availability for after-hours and weekend emergency response is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform content restoration work at residential and commercial properties
  • Conduct physical labor including cleanup, packing customers' contents, on-location cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and deodorization
  • Assist with inventory of site contents, setup of emergency services equipment, and preparing contents for storage
  • Follow safety rules, regulations, and site-specific safety plans; don protective gear
  • Operate tools and equipment; perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Perform warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, and building maintenance
  • Work at high elevations (e.g., ladders, scaffolding)
  • Handle hazardous waste operations
  • Perform all other assigned duties

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of construction experience, specifically in water/fire damage, environmental, or hazardous waste work
  • Valid environmental physical for respirator use
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
  • Current State Driver’s license
  • Forklift operator certification
  • Must pass OSHA HAZWOPER medical surveillance physical and drug screening
  • Ability to lift and carry 75 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and wear full/half-face respirators
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States

Qualifications

  • Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and computation of rates, ratios, and percentages
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and employees
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to follow directions
  • Commitment to company safety policies

Preferred Skills

  • IICRC Water Restoration certification
  • Heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Work Environment

The role involves working around equipment and machinery in dirty, dusty, and noisy conditions. Work surfaces may be uneven, and environments may contain hazardous substances or materials. Exposure to inclement or extreme weather and temperatures is possible. Frequent travel is required.

Physical Demands

Must be in good physical health to meet OSHA HAZWOPER medical clearance requirements. Ability to work in confined spaces, wear respirators, and regularly lift/carry 75 pounds is essential.
