About the Role
The Restoration Technician works as part of a team to perform emergency services and contents restoration while adhering to company policies, EPA, OSHA, and local safety and hazardous materials handling requirements. Availability for after-hours and weekend emergency response is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform content restoration work at residential and commercial properties
- Conduct physical labor including cleanup activities, packing customers' contents, on-location cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and deodorization
- Assist with inventory of site contents, setup of emergency services equipment, and preparing contents for storage
- Follow safety rules, regulations, guidelines, and site-specific safety plans; don protective gear
- Operate routinely used tools and equipment
- Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
- Maintain warehouse, stock supplies, and perform building maintenance
- Work at high elevations (e.g., ladders, scaffolding)
- Handle hazardous waste operations
- Perform all other assigned duties
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of construction experience, specifically on water/fire damage jobs, environmental experience, or hazardous waste handling
- Valid and current environmental physical enabling respirator use
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Current State Driver’s license
- Forklift operator certification
- Must pass OSHA HAZWOPER medical surveillance physical examination and drug screening
- Ability to wear full/half-face respirator, work in confined spaces, and regularly lift/carry 75 pounds
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
Skills
- Basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Strong communication skills: read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; speak effectively to customers and employees
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to follow directions
- Commitment to company safety policy
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) encouraged but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- IICRC Water Restoration certification
- Heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience
Work Environment
Work involves exposure to equipment and machinery in dirty, dusty, and noisy conditions on uneven surfaces. Handling hazardous materials and using personal protective equipment is required. Work may occur in inclement or extreme weather and temperatures. Frequent travel is required.
Pay
$20–$25 per hour
