Restoration Technicians perform emergency services and contents restoration work while adhering to company policies, EPA, OSHA, and local safety and hazardous-materials regulations. Availability for after-hours and weekend emergency response is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform content restoration work at residential and commercial properties
- Conduct physical labor including cleanup, packing customers’ contents, on-location cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and facility deodorization
- Assist with inventory of site contents, setup of emergency services equipment, and preparation of contents for storage
- Follow safety rules, regulations, guidelines, and site-specific safety plans; don protective gear
- Operate tools and equipment; perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Maintain warehouse, stock supplies, and perform building maintenance
- Work at high elevations (ladders, scaffolding)
- Handle hazardous waste operations
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of construction experience, specifically on water/fire damage jobs, environmental, or hazardous waste projects
- Valid environmental physical and OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Current State Driver’s license and forklift operator certification
- Must pass OSHA HAZWOPER medical surveillance physical and drug screening
- Ability to wear full/half-face respirator, work in confined spaces, and regularly lift/carry 75 pounds
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
Skills
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Communication: read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports; speak effectively to customers and employees
- Preferred: IICRC Water Restoration certification, heavy equipment operation/maintenance experience, bilingual English/Spanish
Work Environment
- Dirty, dusty, noisy conditions around equipment and machinery
- Uneven ground/surfaces with hazardous substances/materials
- Exposure to inclement/extreme weather and temperatures
- Handling hazardous materials; use of personal protective equipment
- Frequent travel required
Physical Demands
- Good physical health to meet OSHA HAZWOPER medical clearance
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at high elevations
- Regularly lift and carry 75 pounds
