About the role
The Restoration Technician works as part of a team to perform emergency services and contents restoration while adhering to company policies, EPA, OSHA, and local safety and hazardous-materials regulations. Availability for after-hours and weekend emergency response is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform content restoration work at residential and commercial properties
- Conduct physical labor including cleanup, packing customers’ contents, on-location cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and facility deodorization
- Assist with inventory of site contents, setup of emergency services equipment, and preparation of contents for storage
- Follow safety rules, regulations, and site-specific safety plans; don and use protective gear
- Operate tools and equipment; perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
- Perform warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, and building maintenance
- Work at high elevations (e.g., ladders, scaffolding)
- Handle hazardous waste operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of construction experience, specifically on water/fire damage jobs, environmental work, or hazardous waste
- Valid and current environmental physical enabling respirator use
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Current State Driver’s license
- Forklift operator certification
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Skills
- Basic arithmetic: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Communication: read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively to customers and employees
- Physical ability to meet OSHA HAZWOPER medical clearance, wear full/half-face respirators, work in confined spaces, and regularly lift/carry 75 pounds
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to follow directions
- Commitment to company safety policy
- Bilingual English/Spanish encouraged but not required
Qualifications (Preferred)
- IICRC Water Restoration certification
- Heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience
- Construction industry experience
Work Environment
Work involves exposure to equipment and machinery in dirty, dusty, noisy, and uneven environments containing hazardous substances. Conditions may include inclement or extreme weather and temperatures. Frequent travel is required.
