About the role
The Restoration Technician works as part of a team to perform emergency services and contents restoration while adhering to company policies, EPA, OSHA, and local safety and hazardous-materials regulations. Availability for after-hours and weekend emergency response is required.
Responsibilities
- Perform content restoration work at residential and commercial properties
- Conduct physical labor including cleanup, packing customers’ contents, on-location cleaning, HVAC cleaning, and facility deodorization
- Assist with inventory of site contents, setup of emergency services equipment, and preparing contents for storage
- Follow safety rules, regulations, and site-specific safety plans; don protective gear
- Operate routinely used tools and equipment; perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment
- Perform warehouse maintenance, stock supplies, and building maintenance
- Work at high elevations (e.g., ladders, scaffolding)
- Handle hazardous waste operations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–4 years of construction experience, specifically on water/fire damage jobs, environmental work, or hazardous waste
- Valid and current environmental physical enabling respirator use
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
- Current State Driver’s license
- Forklift operator certification
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States
Skills
- Basic arithmetic: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Communication: read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; speak effectively before customers or employees
- Physical ability to meet OSHA HAZWOPER medical clearance and drug screening; wear full/half-face respirators; work in confined spaces; regularly lift and carry 75 pounds
Work Environment
The role involves working around equipment and machinery in dirty, dusty, and noisy conditions on uneven surfaces. Exposure to hazardous substances, extreme weather, and temperatures is common. Personal protective equipment is required. Frequent travel is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- IICRC Water Restoration certification
- Heavy equipment operation and maintenance experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to follow directions
- Commitment to company safety policy
