Restoration Estimator

RestoreCore is a family-owned disaster restoration company hiring a Restoration Estimator to inspect property damage, develop scopes of work, and prepare accurate estimates for commercial restoration projects.

About the role

This opportunity is ideal for someone with experience in property restoration, construction estimating, insurance claims, Xactimate, project coordination, or a related field. You will work with experienced estimators and Project Managers while developing your technical, estimating, and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspect commercial and residential properties affected by water, fire, mold, storm, and other damage
• Document property damage using photos, measurements, notes, and diagrams
• Develop detailed scopes of work for mitigation, reconstruction, and restoration projects
• Prepare accurate estimates using Xactimate and other insurance estimating software
• Review construction materials, labor requirements, equipment, and project costs
• Submit estimates for review and complete revisions or supplements
• Communicate with property owners, adjusters, insurance carriers, Project Managers, and internal teams
• Maintain accurate project documentation and estimate updates in company systems
• Support projects from the initial inspection through estimate approval
• Participate in production meetings, training, and occasional emergency response

Requirements

• Experience in restoration, construction, estimating, insurance claims, project coordination, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of residential or commercial construction
• Xactimate experience is preferred
• Experience preparing scopes, estimates, supplements, or property damage documentation is a plus
• Strong communication, customer service, and negotiation skills
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to local job sites
• Willingness to occasionally assist with after-hours emergency losses

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This position combines office-based estimating with field inspections at active construction and restoration sites. Candidates must be able to walk, stand, bend, climb, wear required personal protective equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds. Work may involve varying weather conditions, dust, debris, damaged buildings, and occasional evening or weekend emergency response.
