Restaurant Service Assistant - Mermaid Bar

About the Role

The Restaurant Server Assistant maintains setup in the dining rooms to ensure guests receive a level of food and beverage service consistent with the high standards set by Neiman Marcus.

Responsibilities

• Focuses on table maintenance in the dining room, including clearing and re-setting tables
• Delivers popovers, butter, and pours water
• Delivers food and beverage to guests as indicated by kitchen tickets
• Maintains the bus station and beverage areas
• Learns table numbers and sections in the dining area
• Assists kitchen staff and service staff with any service needs (e.g., additional customer requests, restocking plates, bagging “to go” orders, setting up expediter station)
• Assists waitstaff with any service needs, refilling beverages and running food from the kitchen to the dining room as needed
• Sets up the dining room with key items, including but not limited to coffee, iced tea, and ice
• Maintains dining room by restocking glasses, flatware, and linens
• Participates in daily pre-shift meeting
• Executes pre-shift, post-shift, and daily and weekly duties as assigned by supervisor
• Lifts and moves objects (e.g., tables, chairs, highchairs, etc.)
• Cleans and maintains restaurant and workstation
• Maintains the highest level of hygiene standards, including clean and pressed uniform, professionally styled hair and nails, and adherence to food safety practices
• Reports to work area dressed appropriately and prepared to work with necessary supplies/equipment

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in serving food and beverage and following proper table service guidelines
• Ability to work autonomously
• Motivated and results-driven
• Knowledge of proper placement of china, glass, and flatware for table settings
• Thorough knowledge of order of service and proper placement of table settings, food, and beverage
• Thorough knowledge of food, including preparation and culinary terminology
• Ability to interact graciously with the public and handle multiple duties simultaneously
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills
• "Win together" mentality
• Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Experience in serving food and beverage
• Knowledge of table service guidelines and culinary terminology

Pay

Salary range: $2.13 - $9.06. Compensation varies by geographic location, experience, and job-related factors.
