Restaurant Server - Part-Time

About the role

Responsibilities

• Greet and take food and drink orders from restaurant customers.
• Serve the orders and accommodate special needs/requests.
• Remain attentive to customers throughout their dining experience.
• Complete restocking and cleaning duties as instructed.
• Maintain cleanliness standards in the restaurant, wait station, and kitchen service area.
• Memorize menu items, recipes, and daily specials to assist customers.
• Control allocated guest checks by following established procedures and documenting information accurately.
• Receive and ensure the accuracy of guest checks and payment methods.
• Attend and participate in pre-meal and departmental meetings.
• Respond to customer inquiries and comments promptly and knowledgeably.
• Present a clean and professional appearance at all times.
• Provide quality customer service with a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
• Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.

Requirements

• High school education or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar position for at least 3 months.
• Basic knowledge of customer service principles, the food server function, and restaurant and kitchen operations.
• Fluency in oral and written English.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering throughout the shift.
• Continuous standing, mobility, and continuous movement during preparation and service hours.
• Moderate hearing to hear customers, supervisors, and communicate with other staff.
• Moderate comprehension and literacy to read and understand records and special requests.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, follow verbal and written instructions, and communicate both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to pay attention to sound and sight details in crowded and noisy situations, particularly when handling multiple tasks.
• Ability to handle a variety of customer service problems, including stressful and emotionally charged situations.

• Physical stamina to endure prolonged standing, walking, lifting, and carrying throughout the shift.
• Indoor environment with physically strenuous demands.
