Restaurant Server (Part-Time)

About the Role

The Latitude Server is on the forefront of resident interaction with the dining program for the community. From daily operation of the restaurant and bar to catering and special events, this position requires good judgment and exceptional problem-solving skills. As the face of the dining experience, maintaining positivity and diplomacy in a fast-paced environment is critical while delivering the Latitude Margaritaville Lifestyle.

Responsibilities

• Prepare restaurant for lunch/dining by setting decorations, condiments, napkins, and utensils.
• Adhere to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Explain the chef’s specialties, identify appropriate wines, and answer food preparation questions.
• Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties, and menu deviations, including tracking item availability.
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen, recording resident choices, dietary needs, and special requests.
• Serve orders by delivering patrons’ choices from bar and kitchen, including accompaniments and condiments.
• Respond to additional patron requirements by observing dining process and addressing needs.
• Maintain table settings by removing completed courses, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, and addressing spills.
• Properly open and pour wine at tableside.
• Obtain revenues by totaling charges, issuing bills, accepting payment, and returning credit card slips.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
• Perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by supervisor.
• Fill in for absent staff as needed.
• Assist with special events as needed.
• Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
• Promptly address customer service issues and escalate to management when necessary.

• Maintain a high level of resident contact throughout service hours.
• Build strong, effective teams through supervision, training, coaching, and leadership.

• Ensure compliance with all company, local, state, and federal safety rules.
• Maintain a pristine dining area at all times.

Requirements

• High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Previous serving experience required.
• Excellent oral communication skills.
• Positive interpersonal skills.
• Food Handlers Card.
• Good telephone speaking and listening ability.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
• Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits.
• Evening and weekend availability required.
• Open availability required.

Pay

$8.00 an hour plus tips.
