About the role
The Restaurant Server delivers exceptional food and beverage service while creating memorable guest experiences at Gold Cup Wine Bar, a sophisticated yet relaxed dining venue featuring Virginia wines, handcrafted cocktails, and exceptional cuisine. This role requires strong menu knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for hospitality in a fast-paced luxury environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional food and beverage service to guests in accordance with Forbes Five-Star standards.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and utilize suggestive selling techniques to enhance the guest experience.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, preparation methods, wines, cocktails, and daily specials.
- Make personalized recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Maintain tables and service stations throughout the dining experience.
- Process guest payments accurately and follow all cash handling procedures.
- Collaborate with culinary, bartending, and support teams to ensure seamless service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all work areas.
- Complete opening, side work, and closing duties according to departmental standards.
- Attend pre-shift meetings and stay informed of resort events, promotions, and offerings.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and meet all requirements for serving alcohol.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum of six months of restaurant server experience in a full-service dining environment required.
- Luxury hotel, resort, fine dining, wine bar, or upscale restaurant experience preferred.
- Bartending knowledge or experience is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and guest service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
Starting rate: $5.20 per hour plus tips.
