Restaurant Server

About the role

We are looking for aggressively friendly servers to join our team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Report to work well-groomed, in clean and proper uniform, and practice good personal hygiene at all times.
• Greet guests courteously and respectfully when seated at your station.
• Take verbal drink and meal orders according to guest preferences.
• Serve high-quality food and verify all orders for completeness, accuracy, portion size, and attractive presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of your station and pantry.
• Perform side work during downtime, including rolling silverware, restocking supplies, cleaning workstations, and bussing tables.
• Execute the service cycle and team responsibilities consistently.
• Maintain sufficient menu knowledge to suggestively sell items to guests.
• Write guest checks and/or operate POS equipment according to company policies.
• Anticipate, identify, and correct system breakdowns to maximize guest satisfaction.
• Ensure 100% guest satisfaction on every visit.
• Communicate with the Manager on Duty and coworkers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment issues, or safety problems.
• Keep the General Manager and Manager on Duty informed of problems and propose alternative solutions.

Physical Requirements

• Continuous standing and walking.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with guests.
• Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold.
• Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2½–3 feet.
• High level of mobility and flexibility in tight spaces.
• Must be able to fit through openings 30” wide.
• Must work irregular hours under heavy pressure during busy times.
• Bending, reaching, and walking frequently.
• Good eye/hand coordination.
• Must lift and carry serving trays or buss tubs up to 20 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.

Supervision

Receives direction and training from the Associate Manager regarding specific procedures and assignments.

Requirements

• No prior experience required.
• Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service (can be taught through in-house training).
• Handyman knowledge and skills are a plus.
