Job Overview
The Restaurant Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service to guests, ensuring a positive and memorable dining experience. This role involves taking orders, delivering food and beverages promptly, managing guest checks, and maintaining a clean and organized service environment. The Restaurant Server serves as a key point of contact for guests and plays an essential role in upholding service standards and guest satisfaction. This position operates in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment requiring constant movement and guest interaction.
Job Responsibilities
Guest Service & Order Management - Greet guests promptly and provide friendly, attentive service for their dining experience. Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system. Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner. Ensure guest satisfaction by monitoring needs and responding promptly.
Service Execution & Efficiency - Maintain knowledge of menu items, specials, and beverage offerings. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure accurate and timely order delivery. Manage multiple tables efficiently in a high-volume environment. Assist with seating guests or supporting other service areas as needed.
Cash Handling & POS Operations - Accurately process guest checks and handle cash and credit transactions. Follow all check management and cash handling procedures. Ensure accuracy and accountability in all financial transactions.
Cleanliness & Organization - Maintain cleanliness of dining areas, including tables, service stations, and work areas. Ensure flatware, glassware, and plates are clean, polished, and properly stocked. Assist with opening and closing side work duties.
Product Knowledge & Guest Engagement - Maintain knowledge of all property amenities and on-site dining options. Provide recommendations and answer guest questions about menu offerings. Support suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience.
Job Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of restaurant experience required; high-volume dining experience and full-service restaurant or hotel background preferred.
Skills And Abilities: Good food and beverage knowledge. Excellent communication skills for guest interaction and team coordination. Positive, friendly, and professional demeanor. Ability to deliver prompt and accurate service. Ability to handle cash and manage guest checks accurately. Strong attention to cleanliness and presentation standards. Familiarity with property amenities and dining outlets. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to support multiple areas of restaurant operations as needed.
Certifications: Food safety and/or alcohol service certification preferred (or required per local regulations).
Travel required: No travel required; position is fully property-based.
Physical Requirements: Constant standing, walking, and balancing throughout shift. Frequent to constant bending, reaching, and use of manual and gross motor skills. Occasional to frequent crouching, pushing/pulling, and eye-hand coordination. Frequent carrying/lifting up to 10-25 lbs.; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Ability to safely carry food and beverage items in a busy service environment.
