Responsibilities
- Approach guests with a warm and welcoming demeanor, introduce yourself, and establish rapport.
- Possess thorough knowledge of our menu items, including ingredients, preparation methods, daily specials, and potential allergens. Be able to answer guest questions accurately and make recommendations.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately, utilizing our point-of-sale (POS) system efficiently and ensuring all modifications and special requests are clearly communicated to the kitchen and bar.
- Adhere to established service standards, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of food and beverages, pre-bussing tables, and anticipating guest needs.
- Take beverage orders, serve drinks responsibly, and have knowledge of our beer, wine, and cocktail selections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned tables, ensuring they are properly set, cleared, and reset promptly.
- Handle payments accurately, process payments efficiently using the POS system, and handle cash and credit card transactions with integrity.
- Address guest complaints and concerns promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from management when necessary to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, including hosts, bussers, kitchen staff, and bartenders, to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Be knowledgeable about the restaurant's history, ambiance, and any special events or promotions.
- Follow all safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and healthy environment for guests and staff.
- Complete assigned side work duties, including stocking stations, preparing condiments, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the service areas.
- Suggestively sell appetizers, beverages, desserts, and specials to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Server in a fast-paced restaurant environment preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a positive and friendly attitude.
- Strong customer service orientation with a genuine desire to please guests.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage service procedures.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays of food and beverages.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol in Massachusetts.
- Certification in responsible alcohol service (e.g., TIPS) is a plus.
